令和7年（2025年）3月25日は大阪府藤井寺市にある道明寺天満宮に「菜種御供大祭｣の撮影に行きました。

神社境内

近鉄　道明寺駅から約徒歩5分　駅前商店街を抜けた丘の上に神社があります。

道明寺という名前は明治時代以前の神仏習合の頃には同じ敷地内に寺と神社が建っていましたが、神仏分離によって分けられ寺は道明寺（尼寺）として別の近隣地にあります。

 

本殿神事

道明寺は菅原道真公の叔母様　覚寿尼公（かくじゅにこう）が住んでいた場所です。神社のHPによれば道真公が延喜元年（901年）大宰府に左遷される途中にも立ち寄って、覚寿尼公との別れを惜しんだそうです。この場面は「道明寺の別れ」として有名です。

その際辺り一面には菜の花が咲いていました。覚寿尼公は毎日陰膳を据えていましたが、その飯を粉にし、梅の実の形にした黄色の団子をこしらえたところ、病気平癒の効があるとして、参拝者がこぞって求めました。

これが河内の春を告げる神事となり、「河内の春ごと」として親しまれているそうです。

今年は2月から3月中旬まで気温が低い日が続き、梅の開花がとても遅れました。そして、ソメイヨシノの開花も遅れていましたが、当日、日中は初夏の陽気でした。 

私は午前9時ごろに神社に到着して社務所にご挨拶をしてから神事の撮影を致しました。

午後1時に本殿前に参集した稚児とその保護者たちで華やかで愛らしい雰囲気となっていました。

稚児たちは菜の花をもらい、お払いを受けた後に行列が出発しました。

先頭の神職に続いて子供を守護する猿田彦が先導します。

行列は神社境内を抜け、商店街を道明寺駅に向かいます。

この祭礼の行列の道行きはどちらかといえば短いのですが、幼い稚児には過酷です。

行列は駅前で曲がって神社に戻ります。

境内に入って本殿前で菜の花をお供えして稚児たちの奉仕は終わりました。

 

稚児たちは衣装のまま境内で記念写真を撮ったりしながら帰途に着きました。

 

道明寺天満宮、祭り関係者、そして、参加者の皆様ありがとうございました。

It went to shooting of “Natane Goku Grand Festival (Shinto ritual of offering the yellow rice dumpling at the season of rape blossoms)" to Domyoji Tenmangu Shrine located at the Osaka Prefecture Fujiidera City at the 25 March 2025, and that is located about 5 minutes from Kintetsu Domyoji station.

That is the location of the old history of many archaeological sites have been excavated, this place is also a clan birthplace of Sugawara Michizane's Family as "Tenjin-Sama" public everyone knows as the god of learning.

In the ancient times, there is in the same place because of syncretistic fusion of Shintoism and Buddhism, but after it was the Ordinance Distinguishing Shinto and Buddhism at Meiji era that was separated into Shinto Shrine and Buddhism Temple.

Domyoji is where an aunt of Mr. Sugawara Michizane had lived. And this place is famous for story of "Parting of Domyoji".

This festival is based on a story that His aunt made the yellow rice dumpling for everyday for pray for him, they say that "Spring Festival of Kawachi (East part of Osaka-Prefecture)".

 

This year, the temperature continued to be low from February to mid-March, which caused the Ume blossoms to bloom very late. The Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms were also late in blooming, but on the day, the temperature was like an early summer.

 

I arrived shrine at about 9:00am, and then moved to main shrine to photograph a Shinto Ritual.

Children who participate in the festival came around noon.

It had become a lovely atmosphere when parents and bronc has come at the front of main shrine at 1:00 pm.

The parade started after they received a purification ceremony and received rape blossoms.

Parade have been departure with the Shinto priest and "Sarutahiko"(Shinto god) in their lead. After went out of the shrine area, the parade went to Domyoji Station through the shopping mall. Process of this festival is short, but it is hard to the young children.

A parade returned to the shrine, after they turned at the front of the station. Their role of this festival was ended when they offered rapeseed in the main shrine.
