"Nakaragi-no-Michi" is a promenade on the east bank of the Kamo River on the west side of the Kyoto Botanical Garden.

For 0.8 km between Kitaoji Bridge and Kitayama Ohashi Bridge, Double-flowered crimson weeping cherry blossoms bloom looks like a "tunnel of cherry blossoms."

According to KYOTOdesign Homepage (quoted below),  if you follow the Kamo River upstream from the south, it splits into the Kamo River and the Takano River south of Shimogamo. Between the Kitaoji Bridge and the Kitayama Ohashi Bridge on the Kamo River, the walking path on the left bank (east side) of the embankment is ”Nakaragi-no-Michi".

They say that the name "Nakaragi" is said to be derived from the name of the Nakaragi Shrine next to the river. And they didn't like the fact that the shrine had been washed away by the flood, so he changed the kanji character for "flow" to "half".

In the Kyoto Botanical Gardens next to this walking path, there is a natural forest that preserves the vegetation of the Yamashiro plain called "Nakaragi-no-Mori", and Nakaragi Shrine is in the middle of it. ~ that is written.

This year (2023), the temperature has been very high since March, and the cherry blossoms started to bloom very early. However, the weather has been good and the days without rain has continued, to the cherry blossomed longer than I have expected.

When I visited, many people were strolling around to regret the cherry blossoms that had begun to fall.

Thank you to all the parties concerned.
